For ease of study, we could re-align the sections as follows:
1. English Aptitude
- Includes Comprehension (Both first and last Comprehension), Communication Skills (3 sections)
2. Reasoning Aptitude
- Logical Reasoning and Analytical Ability, General Mental Ability, Decision Making and Problem Solving (3 sections)
3. Quantitative Aptitude
- Basic Numeracy, Data Interpretation (2 sections)
With 200 marks and 2 hrs. in hand, let us assume the sectional distribution for CSE could be somewhat like:
Topic Questions Time Allotted Attempt Score
English Aptitude (3 sec) 75 45 55 >48
Reasoning Aptitude(3 sec) 75 45 55 >48
Quantitative Aptitude (2 sec) 50 30 30 >24
Total 200 120 min 140 (70%) 120 (60%)
If the above structure proves true, a score of 120 with 140 attempts would be more than sufficient to clear Paper-II.
As of resources, one could take the following approach:
1. English Aptitude - Books:
English is Easy; Chetananand Singh, BSC Publication
Previous Papers for Bank PO with Detailed Solution; BSC Publication
2. Reasoning Aptitude - Books:
Analytical Reasoning; M.K. Pandey, BSC Publication
Previous Papers for Bank PO with Detailed Solution; BSC Publication
3. Quantitative Aptitude - Books:
Quantitative Aptitude; R S Aggarwal, S. Chand
Quicker Maths; M Tyra, BSC Publication
Previous Papers for Bank PO with Detailed Solution; BSC Publication
One could clear the concepts from the first book and practice with Previous Papers for Bank PO with Detailed Solution.
One could develop his/er own strategy to learn and earn mastery over the sections.
But ensure that you keep in mind the need for Practice, without which none of the concepts would stay in your head.
Also, with just 124 days left for the prelims, it would be highly advisable to settle down on some strategy and initiate practice as a minimum of 45 days practice would be required to ensure you have everything
red-hot in your mind during the CSAT.
Along with an additional 7 days of rest (to mind from new concepts before the Prelims) leaves us with just 72 days (124 days minus (45+7) days) i.e. till 22-April-2011 on the upper side, to gain new concepts.
